Avon 2019: My Goals

Although Christmas hasn't made it here yet, Avon's 2019 season is upon us. This year there has been so much negative going on for us, I am hoping and going to make 2019 a great year for us. I have goals I want to reach, and I am going to reach them. Right now there are three different things I want to accomplish, and with everyone's help I can accomplish them.

Holiday Shipping Schedule

December starts in 2 days! We'll let that sink in for a moment (for you and me also!). Unfortunately, that means it's time to discuss shipping cut off dates.

These are the list of dates you can order your items and they will be there in time for Christmas. Considering that in Alaska and Hawaii you only have 17 days left, it will be here before we know it. Make sure you order those holiday gifts as soon as possible so you won't have to worry if they will arrive in time!

Have you heard about Avon Fundraising?

Fundraising is a vital activity of all groups and organizations. Whether you're a football team, cheerleaders, a church, an at risk program, or any number of other groups you could be, you have to raise money one way or another. If you haven't heard of Avon fundraisers, sit back and relax, because I'm going to do my best to explain. If there is something I don't cover, or you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime.

Week of Fun, Spoilage, and Relaxing

There was a lot going on this past week. It was also a good week thanks to it all.

Tuesday

For me, I don't ask for much because there isn't much I actually want. Any time I want something, I have been blessed with a family who come through for me and get it for me even if I don't ask for it. With all the crap that has been going on around here this year, they still don't make an exception.

On Tuesday after I had made my last post, a package came in for my brother. I happen to be getting ready to leave and texting with a customer when the FedEx driver showed up, so I grabbed the box, put it in the car and took off. I took note that the bottom of the box was slightly open, let my brother know about it, and moved on because I didn't really have time for it since I had just decided to stop by and see my customer before picking up Midget, and it was almost 2:30.

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and more!

It's been a really busy last couple of weeks around here. I've been getting a few Avon brochures out, recruiting, dealing with repair people, driving the 15 year old around, and just generally not having time to do everything (like everyone). I decided today since I have to wait at home for a package for my brother to arrive, it's time to get a post out! So, let's talk Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and fundraisers!

Thanksgiving

I don't know about many other people, but for the last 15 years or so, I've had a love/hate relationship with the holiday season. I love going out getting stuff to spoil the kids in the family, presents for Christmas, and seeing the family, but in general I have had a great dislike for everything else that had to do with them. This year is different because I'm going to try to enjoy it all, which is very overwhelming to think about. Taking it one step at a time is all I can think of doing. So this week we will split for Thanksgiving as usual. My brother and son will be heading to Virginia to spend the holiday and weekend with my parents, while my husband and I head to his sister's house on Thanksgiving Day. I may even try to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade this year. I haven't watched in it probably 10 years, and would like to see the route that Midget and his band will probably be taking next year.

Black Friday

After what will hopefully be a good night's sleep, Black Friday will be here, and that means lots of deals, and lots of shopping. I use to love going out early in the morning to hit up the good deals, but in the last few years, I've prefered shopping from my couch. Fighting all those crowds just isn't for me anymore.

Vintage Market Days and State Band Competition

I don't know about you, but my weekend was absolutely full this weekend. I won tickets to the Lexington Vintage Market Days, so I went both Saturday and Sunday with my daughter. My son got to join us Sunday since he was home. Saturday night, I went to Kroger Stadium to watch my son and his band march in the State Band Finals. Busy feels like it an understatement of how my weekend was.

State Band Competition

Saturday was full of different things to do. Midget had to be at school early so they could practice for semifinals and finals of the state band competition that day. I missed the first performance, but made it for the second. The parking lot was full. There were a lot of people there watching and cheering on their bands. Madison Central's parents and supports showed up red lights in hand, routing, cheering, and shouting for this great group of kids. There were 252 students on the field and in the pit, and they did an excellent job. It had been a while since I had seen a full marching band show, and this one brought back memories.
