How Do You Save Money?

If you're like most people, you are always looking for a way to save money. Be it for a vacation, bills, emergency fund, etc. there is always a reason. Some ways to save money are easy to see like don't buy what you don't need, don't eat out all the time, shop sales. Some of them can be time consuming, like clipping coupons and comparing sales. We don't want to go all over the place to get what we want, especially after a long day at work, cleaning, or taking care of the kids (or all 3).

My First Week "Back"

Last week flew by for me! Although I didn't get many books out, I did get to touch base with my old customers and get them brochures. I caught up with most of them and learned a lot about what is going on with them lately. While some of them are going through heartbreak and sorrow, I am glad to see that they are doing alright and making it.

I've Really Been Slacking...

So it's just after midnight on June 1st, and I have finally decided to start blogging again (instead of sleeping obviously). Hubs and I went to the doctor yesterday to do our 3 month diabetes "follow-up", and things went well for him, but not so much for me.

I Suck at This Game...

What game am I talking about? This whole low carbohydrate, cut out the carbs that are my favorite foods to eat game.

Almost 2 Months Later...

A lot has been going on for us, and a lot hasn't been going on. I've taken a short break from Avon because I was starting to get depressed about it, my anxiety was going through the roof because of my "helper" not listening, and I haven't been able to keep my head straight when it came to it. It's been a couple of months since I posted here or talked on the team Facebook page, but I had to distance myself to get my mind back where I need it to be to do it. I also

Wow, Look at the Time!

So I decided to check on things over here today, and realized it's been two weeks since I last wrote. Where did the time go?!

A lot has happened, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon either! Avon has come out with a LOT of new incentives, deals, and plans.

New Year, New Me

Well, here we are. The holidays are finally over, but now it’s time for everyone to start “working” on their New Year’s resolutions. For some, it will go the same way it does every year: we have good intentions, but abandon them for the good old comfort of what they are use to. For some, they will get through the first couple of weeks, then decide what they wanted isn’t happening as fast as they wanted it to, then give up. Finally there are going to be those who stick with their resolutions either for themselves, their kids, or because their choices are do it or face something even harder. I plan on being part of the third group this year, after talking about it for so long.

What Has Avon Done for Me?

When I first started my Avon business in February 2018, I had a lot of different things I wanted to accomplish because of my business. Some of them where to have a reason to get out of the house, to meet people in the community, and to make friends. Fortunately for me, these are all goals that I can continue to achieve and keep as goals because I will always need a reason to get out of the house (not necessarily want, but need), I will need to continue to meet people in my community, and I will always want to make new friends (whether I admit it or not).

Air Head Me

This is what I wrote on Thursday the 13th:

I don't know what it is about this week, but I just cannot get myself to stay on track! First, I started off by playing games instead of working Monday. That put me completely behind when it came to getting books out and collecting orders on Tuesday, and even Wednesday. Today, I am suppose to start getting ready for my table at Fast Wireless on Saturday, but it took me over 5 hours to write my social media posts! I keep getting distracted with other things (okay, so Facebook), and my mind is wandering a million miles a minute it seems like. I keep thinking about 3 or 4 other things I need to do, yet not getting any of it done. Not sure how I'm going to get anything done if I can't figure out what I need to do today to stay on track.

What is it about Avon?

Before I came back to Avon, it had been a couple of years since I had worked. I've worked all kinds of places in my life, but none that I loved quite as much as Avon (but armed security and embroidery were a close 2nd and 3rd). I don't know what it is about this company, but being able to make the friends I have, come out of my hole I've dug for the last 8 years, to help reintroduce Avon to people who haven't seen anything about it in years, and to become the Avon Lady for people who lost theirs for various reasons, has just made me feel like such a different person than I was 11 months ago.

Avon 2019: My Goals

Although Christmas hasn't made it here yet, Avon's 2019 season is upon us. This year there has been so much negative going on for us, I am hoping and going to make 2019 a great year for us. I have goals I want to reach, and I am going to reach them. Right now there are three different things I want to accomplish, and with everyone's help I can accomplish them.

Week of Fun, Spoilage, and Relaxing

There was a lot going on this past week. It was also a good week thanks to it all.

Tuesday

For me, I don't ask for much because there isn't much I actually want. Any time I want something, I have been blessed with a family who come through for me and get it for me even if I don't ask for it. With all the crap that has been going on around here this year, they still don't make an exception.

On Tuesday after I had made my last post, a package came in for my brother. I happen to be getting ready to leave and texting with a customer when the FedEx driver showed up, so I grabbed the box, put it in the car and took off. I took note that the bottom of the box was slightly open, let my brother know about it, and moved on because I didn't really have time for it since I had just decided to stop by and see my customer before picking up Midget, and it was almost 2:30.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Karen's Escapade!

I want to tell you a little about me, and a little about this blog.

I am a mother, wife, diabetic, and an Avon Representative. While going through many adventures in my life so far, I unfortunately have picked up some issues like depression and anxiety. My husband and children have been helping me manage these for years, but earlier this year, it became worse than normal. I really didn't have any friends I talked to (just Facebook stalked and liked pictures and statuses every once in a while), I didn't leave my house unless I absolutely had to, and I was "burying" myself deeper everyday. I decided I needed a change, and decided to look into what it would take to get back into selling Avon (I sold before in 2008 or so). I began this newest escapade on February 2nd, 2018, with the simple goals of getting out of the house, meeting new people, making friends, and learning the area I have lived in for 9 years and had yet to learn.
